Yesterday was about honor. Today is about justice.

I went to see Shooter last Tuesday. Loved it soooooo much. It is about a marksman (Wahlberg) living in exile is coaxed back into action after learning of a plot to kill the president. Ultimately double-crossed and framed for the attempt, he goes on the run to track the real killer and find out who exactly set him up, and why.

I am not a big fan of action movies, but this one is very different. It has lots of killing of course, but also it has some thought. It’s something close to “V for Vendetta”, “The Minority Report”, “Syriana”,,,, where the writer explores the relationship between power and money, where the corruption is infiltrated to the main heads of the government while there is still hope in the remaining good people.

The actors were very good. Hats off to Michael Peña, he played the role of a newly hired FBI agent, brilliant! The shooting was also very nice, especially the begining and the end. The action parts were a little bit too bloody for me, I had to close my eyes in a couple of scenes ! But all in all, it’s a must see.

The movie had also some great lines, I wished to write them down in the middle of the dark. There was one where a US senator says something like: “this is not about democrats or republicans, not sunna and shiia, it’s about those who have and those who have not“. This same senator says in another scene:There’s always a confused soul who thinks one man can make a difference, and you have to kill him to convince him otherwise.” An old snipper: “They said the artifical sweetner is not harmful, they said there are WMD in Iraq, they say many things,,,”… There were also some lines said by the main character, but I totally forgot them😦 will look around for movie quotes and let you know…

Akhiran,,, Hollywood is doing something worth while.
